Information we collect

• Information you give us directly. When you phone us or complete our project survey, you may give us your name, phone number, email address, the province you want to build in, your timing and the size of home you have in mind, and later the location or legal land description of your property and details about the project you're planning. We collect only what we need to evaluate your parcel and respond to your enquiry.
• Information collected automatically. We do not run analytics or tracking on the Site. Like any web server, our hosting provider may log basic technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the Site.

Why we collect it and how we use it

We use personal information only for the purposes we collected it for, with your consent, or as the law requires or permits:

• To respond to your enquiry
• To evaluate a parcel and prepare a quote or feasibility answer
• To schedule and manage a project if you become a client
• To meet legal, permitting, or regulatory obligations tied to a project

Cookies and analytics

The Site does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics tracking, and it sets no advertising cookies. Our project survey sets no cookies: your answers are sent once, when you press send, and delivered to us by email through an email delivery provider. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

• Project delivery. With the engineers, municipal and permitting authorities, suppliers or trades directly involved in your project, and only the details each of them actually needs.
• Service providers. With vendors who help us run the Site or our business, such as our hosting and email delivery providers, who may only use the information to provide that service. Some providers may store information outside your province or outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
• Legal reasons. If required or permitted by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Chinook Barndo Co., our clients, or others.

Retention

We keep enquiries and project records only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, deliver a project, and meet our own record-keeping and legal obligations, then securely destroy or anonymize them.

Your rights and choices

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use (subject to legal or contractual limits), using the contact details below. We will respond within the time the law allows. Withdrawing consent for information tied to an active project may limit our ability to continue that project. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Alberta or British Columbia, that province's Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Safeguards

We take reasonable physical, organizational and technical steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site or our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
